Do you accept NSFAS students?
Yes. NSFAS-funded students are welcome and our leases follow NSFAS standard rules. When you enquire, let us know that you're NSFAS-funded and we'll guide you through what's needed.
I have a bursary. Can I stay with you?
Yes, bursary students are welcome. Tell us who your bursary provider is when you enquire and we'll take it from there.
What is included in the rent?
Your rent covers a furnished room plus access to everything on site: Wi-Fi, the kitchen (including gas stoves for power failures), laundry room, TV room, study room, gym and play area. Security (CCTV and access control), backup power and borehole-filtered water are part of every stay. The full list of inclusions is set out in your lease agreement.
How long is the lease?
You can choose a 6-month or a 10-month lease.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
No. There is no deposit to secure your room.
Can I bring a pet?
No. Pets are not allowed at any Mateo Properties residence. This keeps the buildings clean, quiet and comfortable for every student, including those with allergies.
Can I have visitors?
The visitor policy is set out in your lease agreement. Please read it before you sign, and ask us if anything is unclear.
How do I apply?
- Enquire: complete the enquiry form, call us, or message us on WhatsApp (opens in a new tab). Tell us your campus, room type and preferred move-in date.
- Confirm availability: we'll let you know what's open and which documents we need from you.
- Sign your lease and move in: choose a 6 or 10 month lease, sign, and move in.
